Feel Amazing, look hot and get that circulation moving!

March 22nd, 2011

In my opinion this year is all about making a difference, and making it count. Personally I think the vibe is more energetic in 2011 and people are feeling more hopeful for life in general. Those winter months are in the past now, its gone and whatever you ate, drank and did should be celebrated and loved, because if you are feeling overwhelmed by toxins…. today is another day!! Today is the day you could start turning your health around if you haven’t already.

I want to talk about the importance of circulation and how it affects the way you look, feel and the amount of energy you have. Lets be blunt here, if an artery leading to the heart gets clogged there is a chance of a heart attack, or if there is a clogged artery leading to the brain there is a chance of a stroke. This is serious stuff and a situation that we all want to avoid. Our eyes also have tiny capillaries through which the blood brings oxygen and nutrients and when these tiny arteries get blocked our vision becomes worse. This is the same principle all over the body such as our hearing, memory and other cognitive functions. This also affects the rate at which we age, the condition of our hair and nails and ladies, the cellulite on our bottoms!! It is possible to get rid of cellulite, (Yahoo!!) and there are no creams out there that normally cost a small fortune that can banish such fat. There are no quick fixes other than mainly a great alkalizing diet!

What we want to aim for is optimal circulation to keep all the cells in our bodies alive and well nourished. There are many foods that can stimulate and improve circulation such as ginger root, fresh rosemary (this can also be used in massage oil and rubbed on the skin to help improve cellulite) daikon radish, cayenne pepper, garlic and all the wonderful dark green leafy vegetables because of their high chlorophyll content that is so nourishing to the blood.

I was at my parent’s house the other day, and they had the radio 4 on in the background. I realized they were having a discussion about the benefits of taking a daily aspirin and how it was helping people stay cancer free, and how it helps with the circulation and thinning of the blood. AAhhhh!!! Eating greens is a much wiser way of any prevention and helps to maintain great circulation. There are no side effects (such as irritation to the stomach lining, causing the need for more acidic medication) you will strengthen your immune system and keep your liver happy, none of which the aspirin do, in fact they suppress white blood cell activity needed for optimum immunity!!

Alkalizing foods nourish you. They maintain your energy, and they keep you looking youthful and beautiful! Avoiding cooked fats, (vegetable and animal) and all the chemical additives that are so common in processed foods will stop you from clogging up, feeling groggy and aging quicker than you would like.

When you are alkalized and energized there is no end to what you can achieve. Make this year count. Take your health into your own hands and make those changes happen!

Life is for thriving, not just surviving!!

Energise your life!!!

March 22nd, 2011
  • Energise your life the food combining way!!

There is so much confusion around food. I can only inform you about the things I believe to be right, and the way food has worked for myself, my friends and family and many clients who have seen drastic improvements in their health by following these simple guidelines.

No matter what your health challenges are the number one thing you must get right before you can tackle ANY other ailment or illness is digestion.

Food combining can take your energy to the next level because you are taking the strain away from your digestion and giving your system exactly what it needs. To avoid indigestion, bowel complaints and insure optimal absorption (therefore optimum energy) of all that good stuff you are eating follow these simple rules;

  1. Avoid drinking too much liquid with your meals. Drinking while eating weakens the action of the digestive juices in the stomach, and is unnecessary in terms of thirst when you eat plenty of fresh, natural foods as they contain lots of water. In an ideal world drink half an hour before meals and wait for at least an hour afterwards.
  2. Fruits and vegetables don’t mix as a rule! The sugars and acids in fruits slow the digestion of starches in the vegetables and can easily cause fermentation in those of us with a weak digestive system (which actually is 90% of the uk!). If you know someone who as plenty of gas and has a bloaty stomach, you can bet your life that they are not combining their food well. Fruits and vegetables should be eaten separately at different meals. If you wish to eat a fruit desert eat at least 1 and a half hours after your meal! Your dinner party’s will last a long time, but at least your guests won’t be fumigating your house!
  3. Any greens, sprouted seeds, vegetables and avocados mix well together. Sauces made with avocados, seeds and nuts are fine to have with all your salads. Try not to overcomplicate meals with too much variety. For example when mixing a salad keep to 8 or less vegetables at any meal time. Remember food is our fuel, our energy, but does not need to be over complicated, in the same way that life doesn’t need to be overcomplicated!
  4. Avoid eating breads and grains with acid fruits. Ocassionally sweet fruits (Dates, figs, raisins, bananas) can be used to include in the bread or homemade cereals, but acidic fruits should be avoided such as oranges, pinapples, strawberries etc.
  5. Eat food that is warmed to room temperature. Cold food is just a use of energy that you could do without!  It dilates the diaphragm, which causes pain and effects the enzyme activity and your body. It also has to bring the food down to your body temperature before it can be digested! A complicated process for your body, when it could be so simple!!
  6. Chew, Chew and chew!! Sit down to eat and be thoughtful of every mouthful! Shoveling food in doesn’t do anything for the wasteline or the taste buds!
  7. Always eat raw food before cooked otherwise the cooked food holds up the digestion of the raw causing unwanted gas again! If you want to lose weight this is the BEST solution as it fills you up and you are much more likely to eat slowly and less of it!!
  8. Make meals of one or two combinations, such as protein with vegetables for lunch and starch with vegetables in the evening!!
  9. Be as relaxed as possible when you eat! Enjoy!
